Eco Retreat
Pella® Impervia® Direct Set Fiberglass Windows
Situated on the edge of Wardensville, West Virginia, surrounded on three sides by the scenic George Washington National Forest, this modern retreat captures the unfiltered beauty of its natural surroundings. For this project, Pella Mid-Atlantic utilized high-performance glazing solutions designed to merge Eco Retreat’s striking architecture with the serenity of untouched wilderness.
Project Overview
Currently under development and set for completion by Summer 2025, this project marks the first buildout phase of a larger retreat initiative. Led by DVNDevelopment, every design decision whether structural, material, and aesthetic, focuses on connecting interior living spaces to the surrounding landscape, allowing residents and guests to experience the passing daylight and starlit nights through expansive window views.
Product Integration
To achieve seamless visual connectivity with the forested horizon, the design incorporates Pella® Impervia® Direct Set Fiberglass Windows, including 10-foot sliding models that emphasize transparency, durability, and clean architectural lines.
Pella® Impervia® windows, engineered from Pella’s proprietary Duracast® fiberglass composite for exceptional strength and low maintenance, feature a sleek profile and energy-efficient glazing that deliver optimal thermal comfort, even within the variable climate of the Appalachian region.
Design Intent
The architecture emphasizes minimalist structure, organic finishes, and connection to place. Our windows act as both framing devices and focal points, offering immersive vistas while maintaining a sense of intimacy and refuge.
